South, who has ridden competitively and recreationally and currently teaches riders, said she has always wanted to be in business in the horse industry. South, who first came across this particular simulator in the United States in 2016, tried it and said she was astonished by how effective it is. “When I first saw this, I thought, ‘Oh this is going to be a little gimmicky,’ but (Racewood) have done their homework on how a horse moves.” “As a rider, we go for the real deal,” she said. When South first came across the simulator, she was fascinated by the concept but was worried that it would be too “gimmicky.” “It’s really amazing for me to be able to help people find their posture and balance from very close up.” “Very rarely can we have an instructor tweak our posture while we’re on a horse,” she said. ![]() ![]() And for South as a trainer, it allows her to be up close and hands on with riders as they train and to do so safely. ![]()
